Is this like some kind of male fantasy?

I see this in movies ALL the time.. where a guy is sick and on the verge of dying then the girl he loves comes and holds him in her arms and cry over him. I'm a chick and I don't find this particularly romantic in the girls position. Is this a common guy thing?
