Would this be a wise purchase, in your opinion?

My friend has offered to sell me his vaporizer and grinder, gently used and in very good condition, for $200. He claims that both of those combined new would be about $340. I really like his vape and i do want one. But the issue is that my friends are saying that i could get a totally new one for about the same price but i think that that is their way of telling me not to buy it. Again, the grinder and vape are in very good condition, gently used and work very well. I'm thinking of buying it but i would also like some 3rd party advice. Any thoughts?
