Why are subs from subway considered healthy if a footlong has over 1000 calories?
First off there are 1,000 calories only when you eat the whole footlong sub which most people shouldn't, it is supposed to be shared. Second of all calories are not created equal. That is why there are guidelines about where we should get our calories from, basically no more than 10-15% from vegetable oil and the rest split between protein and carb. A sub usually has more vegetables, less fat as there is no cheese as in a big Mac, full cream cheese is very fattening, so is the animal fat in the beef patties.
