Converting my bench grinder to a polishing machine?

I've got a spare Bench grinder, could someone advise me if its an easy process( just buying the mops and putting them on) or do i have to purchase one of those conversion Kits which are a bit pricey. Also which mops and other bits, wax etc would i need to purchase.
