I am 16 and have a provisional drivers license. Can I drive a friend around...?

If I have a note from their parent stating that on a particular date I have their permission to drive this friend to and from a certain site because they, on that particular day of course, were completely unable to do so themselves? Do you think I will get my license taken away if I get pulled over by an officer?
